Pedalers 4 A Cure

On July 12, 2008 two riders from the Anna River Pedalers cycling club, Todd Kent and Rob Lundquist departed Munising, Michigan on a mission headed west to the coastal city of Portland, Oregon. Their mission, named “Pedalers 4 a Cure” was to promote breast cancer awareness and to raise funds for The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. The money will be used to make grants available to Upper Peninsula of Michigan residents facing breast cancer and also to community organizations seeking to implement or expand programs designed to make a positive difference in the fight against breast cancer.

This was no ordinary mission. They completed their travels on mountain bikes pulling trailers. There was no SAG vehicle support. They travelled self-supported with camping and occasional motel stays.

Their hope, that the mission would have a positive impact on the lives of others and bring encouragement to individuals and the families of those facing this disease was greatly fulfilled. The riders were greeted by their family members upon their arrival in Portland on August 8, 2008.

For more information about this mission, please visit the official Pedalers 4 a Cure website.
