The Anna River Pedalers Cycling Club was newly created near the beginning of 2004 by a group of Alger County, Michigan residents. The goal of the group is to promote interest, education, and involvement in bicycling and other silent sports.

Alger County, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula provides a beautiful area for this recreation, while enjoying wildlife and some of the many waterfalls located throughout the area.

Each year on the first Saturday following Labor Day, The Anna River Pedalers hosts the renowned “Tour da Woods Mountain Bike Challenge” a point to point race that travels the depths of the Hiawatha National Forest in Michigan’s central Upper Peninsula on a truly unique and challenging course. Proceeds from the race are used to benefit the Alger County D.A.R.E program as well as The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation.

On the Sunday following the “Tour da Woods” race, the Anna River Pedalers along with the Friends of Valley Spur host a free youth race event for ages 16 and under at the Valley Spur Ski and Mountain Bike recreational area near Munising, Michigan. This event is known as the “Tour da Valley”.
